Weekend in Vegas
So this past weekend went to Vegas to see my BFF's Jennifer and Kati. Kati came from Germany to get a new visa and so I took advantage of having them in the same place at once and jumped on a plane. They picked me up from the airport and we headed to the mall for shopping without a stroller and lunch with out chicken nuggets:o) We found these cute little boots for Jennifer but it took Kati's muscle to get the zipper up! I thought we were going to get kicked out from laughing so hard but it all worked out in the end and Jen got the super cute boots!
After the show as when the real excitement started. Long story short I hadn't been feeling well and after getting some lab results form my ob/gyn in the bathroom of the Mirage (it was the only quiet place) we stopped by the good old Albertsons for a pregnancy test. Yup you read that right. Everyone keep your pants on it was negative:O)
All of us getting ready in the bathroom for our night out.
Shopping (we do that really well together)
Shopping (we do that really well together)
the good talks we had some funny some serious
listening to Kati try and call information:O)
Decorating for the shower
laying in Jens family room watching ER and movies like we use to.
Thanks so much for a wonderful weekend girls. It was just like the old times when we all lived in the same town and were glued at the hips. I love you more than words can say. I am so grateful to call you my friends. xoxoxo

A Deserved Break
It's time that I 'crack' back into the family blog to make a little comment - of course it's about Pam. Our life may be like many of yours - crazzzy running from one place to the next. Currently, I'm off and gone to work by 4:30 am until around 5:30 pm. Then it's off to school until 8, 9, or even 10. Get home, iron clothes, make my lunch, catch up on what has happened with Pj and the kids. Start the homework until I fall asleep trying to get it done around 11:30 ish. Just to start it all over again (No, I am not complaining - far from it. And yes, this blog is about Pam not me).
Never a complaint - maybe a comment that this "sucks" or "I'm having a bad day... it's your turn." But never the complaint that cut's to the bone (like whose bright idea was this?). Even when she has all the right. Even when everyone will understand. Even when I call and complain and ask, "Whose bright idea was this anyways?" She's always supportive and encourages me to stick it out - "I know that it sucks, but we're almost there. You can do it!"
So, Babe... enjoy the time, spend the $1.09 on the Diet Coke, and know that all the kids cried for you tonight when I was trying to put them to sleep (No, they weren't trying to play their games). I love you and miss ya!
P.S. - Kids are totally excited... no washing hands and we can even lick the couch without Mom knowing. Boy, Dad sure is great!
P.S.S. - I know Pam's going to kill me for adding the picture of her... but, I think that she's pretty hot!!!

TOUR DE CURE

As many of you know Abbie was diagnosed with type 1 Juvenile Diabetes when she was 3 years old. Diabetes is a disease that is controlled with insulin. Abbie does well managing this disease. It is not fun poking your finger 10 times a day or have shots but she does it. Insulin is a form of life support for these little people. The American Diabetes Association and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation are working very hard to find a cure. As a family we donate our time and money to help. This year however we have decided to participate in the Tour De Cure. We have created Team Abbie for the ride on June 13, 2009.
We will be riding 69 miles. Abbie will ride the first 3 to 5 miles leading out her team and then join them for the last mile, bringing them over the finish line. Part of participating in the ride is to fundraise as a team. Any donation large or small makes a difference. We have committed to raise $750.00 for our team. If you would like to make a donation click onto the following link. http://main.diabetes.org/goto/teamabbie This will take you to our page where you can make a donation. Thank for supporting us and our sweet Abbie! XOXO

conversations with Miss Mckena
Yesterday I picked Mckena up from school and this was our conversation.
Pam- Hey chickie how was school?
Mckena- I'm CRUSHED!
Pam -(smiling) Oh really, how come?
Mckena- Well Cooper was in line with me and he ask me if I wanted to go out on a date and I said I cant have a date until I am 16. Then he turned around and ask Arianna if she wanted to go out on a date. That is rude Mom.
Pam- boys are like that.
Can't wait for the loveliness kindergarten will bring!

monday...
Preston had a book report. The person he decided to learn about was Abraham Lincoln. He was required to dress up so we made some plans. When I went to get my hair cut he asked me to save some of my hair for a beard, NASTY I know but he wanted to. So bright and shiny Monday morning I got out the Karo syrup and the hair and this was the final product. I think he looks pretty good. He might even be a good fit for the Amish community;O)

some fun times
On Saturday it was my birthday. I told Josh that all I wanted was to sleep in and have Diet Coke in my bed around ten! Why do I try to make plans?:O) The young men invited the Laurels from our ward to go to a skeet shoot on Sat morning at 9am. Really not feeling too happy about this since I don't actually know how to shoot a gun! I don't actually know how to load a gun either so the prospect of spending 3 hours of birthday morning out in the butt freezing cold trying not to kill someone or myself wasn't all that appealing. Anyway Josh woke me up at 7:15 told me happy birthday and handed my a diet coke. I know he is a sweet guy:O) Got up and got ready and just as I was about to walk out the door the girls called and cancelled. SERIOUSLY??? I felt so sad to call Bro. Richins and tell him that we were bailing on him and remember my birthday wish? Well as I was looking up his number he called me and cancelled. YUP, cancelled. So I didn't get to sleep in but the silver lining is that I didn't have to try and not kill anyone! I did get a nap in the afternoon and ate lots of donuts and diet coke. Josh took me to Goodwood for dinner and shopping:O) (Thanks Rebecca for watching the little people!) Thanks to all of my friends and family who called and came over to see me. You are the best!
February is a busy month for Birthdays in my family. Monica, Cheryl, Kenny, Tiffany and I all have birthdays. Every year we get together and celebrate. This year we went to Mom's and had dinner and treats.
