WEIRD observations in the last 24hrs...

while at the hospital with my dad last night a guy came in screaming in agony puking into a orange 5 gallon home depot bucket. Felt so bad he was obviously MISERABLE  but did he really think he needed a full 5 gallons?? What happened to the good ole Tupperware or Ziploc?? The triage nurse quickly gave him a pretty pink puke bucket but they left the big fat orange on the floor in front of the check in desk. Gross and WEIRD!

While driving down main street today a Lehi city worker was checking the planters. He actually fluffed the leaves of the flower and patted it on the head. I wonder if that is a trick to helping them grow? If it is, than I am totally going to go out and pat a few of mine own. Funny but a little
WEIRD!

Have seen 3 shoes in the middle of the road this week. Then today there was another. I always feel bad for the mom when she arrives at the store with no idea that one shoe has gone AWOL. I just thought it was odd to see so many in such a short span of time.
WEIRD!

At Hart's today a lady walked out the door with her refillable cup. On top was a bun less hot dog and she had used the straw to hold the chocolate donut. This lady had it down! I wonder how many times it took for her to figure this little contraption out. Creative but a little
WEIRD!

tuesday...one of THOSE days!

you know those kind of days were you should really just get right back in bed?? well tuesday was one of those days around here. it all started out ok when i got up early to go for a run before the kids needed to get ready for school. it was cloudy but warm so i headed out the door. about 1 1/2 miles into it the DOWNPOUR started. not just a little rain a lot a bit of rain. i picked it up a notch. of course i was too lazy the night before to wash off my mascara so you can imagine how beautiful i was. not to mention that i was blind from it running in my eyes and getting under my contacts. when i got to my house i stood on the porch and wrung out my hair and my shirt. despite the rain it was a really good run. got the kids off to school and grabbed a quick shower and headed to the local walmart. where ella immediately started with the melt down. you know the kind i am talking about?? i call them WHITE TRASH moments. she didn't want to be in the cart but didn't want to walk, was throwing herself on the floor, (YIKES!) trying to hit me and bite my leg. it was AWESOME! the best part was the lady's in the walmart. the looks i got were incredible! like their children NEVER threw a fit! whatever!! it took everything in me to not get on the PA system and give them and their crusty little faces a piece of my mind or put extra stuff in their carts when they were not looking. but i didn't. i just politely smiled at them and moved along with my baby who is now having an out of body experience. so after a hour and a half of bawling, arms waving, snot to the chin, holding, ignoring, briding, and a very stern "get a grip" we loaded our 155.67 dollars of grocery's in the car and headed home. got kena ready and off to school and the now exhausted ella in bed. i felt haggard to say the least. with most of my chores done i had a great thought! i will get my blankey, a big bowl of ice cream and lay on the couch for a little quite time. i started a movie (you've got mail. my favorite. cheesy i know but i cant help it) ate my ice cream and drifted in to the best stolen sleep ever. it last about 17 1/2 minutes when my realtor called. someone is coming to see your house in 5 min. i explained that unless they wanted to snuggle on the couch with some rocky road and tom hanks they better come another day. he didn't think i was funny. i told him that there is no way my house can be ready to show in 5 minutes. i need a hour. he called back and they gave me all of thirty mins. i RACED through every room. throwing clothes under the kids bed and shoving stuff in the drawers. putting laundry baskets in the back of the car. it was CRAZY! the whole time i am cussing under my breath cause i think it is so RUDE to not give notice. as they are on the front porch i rip ella, who has only been sleeping for an hour, out of bed and get in my car. i didn't have shoes on, ellas diaper was soggy, and i am sweating profusely. went to kristys house where kindly took me in and let me sit on her couch. don't worry all that was for nothing because the yard it too small to play volleyball in. JERKS! so that night when josh opened his under ware drawer and found a container of clorox wipes, i think he knew not to ask;)

training

I have been training for the tour de cure for a while now. I am not going to lie. I am WORRIED that I am going to be the weakest link on this team. I have been riding like crazy so hopefully it will pay off in the end. I ride my trainer in the garage in the mornings. On monday I was riding and Mckena came out and snapped a picture. You see how fast my feet are moving?;) hahaha...
I took the camera and got a shot from my angle and this is what I saw....

If she is awake she LOVES to come and "drive" while I ride.
I hope that I can make it. It is SO important to Abbie. I am excited to be a riding part of the team this year. It was such am amazing experience last year that I decided to take up cycling. I am thrilled to be able to participate this year. Lets just pray that I don't die in the process!

kidnapping dad....

For spring break this year we were kind of duds! One day however we got our act together and went to SLC and kidnapped Josh. We went straight to his office and said "get your stuff your done for the day" (he actually already knew but it sounds funner this way!) We took a minute to meet his boss and secretary. They were both very kind and sweet with the little people:)
Then to start our date the kids picked Red Robin for lunch which was super yummy. Then we went to Boonbocks for miniature golf:)
Don't you love Mckena's face? LOVE that girl but geeze she has the hardest time smiling for photos!!!
Preston and Abbie on the other hand have been trained well:) Such cute kids!!!
Miss Ella was so happy to just have a purple ball
Everyone had a really great time. They are quite the little golfers. Poor Mckena had a hard time making contact in the beginning but by the end she was a pro!
Ella was having so much fun doing this....
Until the melt down started. Then this is pretty much what we saw.
For having 1/2 hour nap we pretty much knew it would happen.
We did have a great time and made some good memories.
Isn't that what it is all about??

Baking...

My sweet Mckena knows the second I pull out the stuff to make something. While I get my apron on she is transforming her self into this little chief. The cute yellow hat and apron she got from a birthday party. She uses it OFTEN! She LOVES to make chocolate chip cookie or cinnamon rolls the most but will get dressed up for just about anything!
THAT'S MY GIRL!!!
Her arms look funky but I LOVE that face!
LOVE you Mckena

Thanks for always being my special helper:)

Piano Recital

Preston and Abbie have the privilege of taking piano lessons from this amazing woman. Sister Teri Burt. LOVE HER!!!
When I grow up I want to be just like her. The most kind, gentle, soft spoken, sweetest person ever. I cannot tell you how happy I am that my children have the opportunity to spend time with her on a weekly basis.
Preston and Abbie are both excelling at the piano. Abbie happen to be first at the recital this year and she was so NERVOUS!!! She told me before that if she messed up she would cry and then she wouldn't be able to see her music. I told her hey it doesn't matter if you screw up because no one knows what it is suppose to sound like so just keep going. She did make a couple of mistakes but she did just fine! Preston wasn't worried and he did great. I was so proud of them.
Since Josh was out of town we had an instant replay the night he got back.
They did even better for their biggest fan!

Easter...better late than never:)

The Saturday before Easter we caught out with the Brown side of the family and had a yummy lunch and Easter egg hunt. Here's some of the kids with Pappy and Grandma who, by the way, just announced that they will be getting married again in Nov. Cool huh?
After we played some games the kids were ready for the hunt. They lined up at the door and out they went.
Preston found the mother load in the mail box on Pappys shed:)
Miss Abbie
Mckena and her cute smile
and Josh stealing all the kids candy. Ella was sleeping so she missed out but the kids were sweet and gave her some of their candy.
Easter morning the kids found their baskets with all sorts of wonderfulness inside!
Ella shoved as much candy as she could in her mouth and threw her basket over her shoulder:)
That afternoon we went up the canyon to Aunt Lori's house and had lunch and more egg hunts. This is the traditional spot for the photo before they go out to find eggs!
STINKIN CUTE KIDS!!!
The best yard for a hunt:)
Preston and Wyatt
Ella showing us her find!
So much fun!!

thursdays thoughts...

I should blog more is my thought!!!
So far behind and no time...

  • I really need to blog about EASTER. Yes my friends I am that much of a slacker:)

  • Really want someone to look at my house that is willing to pay more than 5 dollars.

  • Missing my BFF's like crazy. Just want to go to lunch, sit on the couch, to  laugh and talk about everything for like 17 1/2 hours. Why cant Utah, Vegas and Germany be a little closer??

  • Excited to go to the nursery to buy some flowers for my mama for her special day.

  • Wishing my uterus would fall out. I don't really need it anymore. It served its purpose, but I am 100 and wont be making babies with rotten eggs so I just need someone to pull that puppy out for good!

  • Asked to teach a class on blogging next week. Why me I stink at this??? Remember I haven't blogged about Easter yet?? They should have asked me to just bring a treat instead. Hey do 1 of you want to do it???

  • Feeling inspired to be my best self. My kids need a mom who is giving 100% My husband needs a wife that is giving 100% and Heavenly Father needs a daughter to be giving 100% so... I'm working on it. Feeling like for the first time in a few years I can look beyond making it through the day and actually look to the future. It looks bright:)
LOVES!
