thursdays thoughts...

Once upon a time there was a little lady who fell in love with a hunk-a-hunk of burnin love. They loved each other so. Eventually these two got married:) When they were newlyweds they LOVED to get away together for quick romantic weekends. Then they had little people and more responsibilities the little getaways got fewer and fewer. Then their daughter was diagnosed with a disease that takes lots of knowledge and care. So the little getaways stopped. As they took care of their little family, they reminisced about the days of little getaways and promised that one day they would do it again.
Then one day the hunk-a-hunk of burnin love came home to surprise the little lady with a overnighter for her birthday!!! "who is going to take care of the kids?" she asked. "the bestest sister in the world" he said. So with a little giddy feeling in her heart the little lady set to work on education, training, and scheduling with the sister. It is going to be the best two days ever, she thought. A trip to the temple, good food, shopping, the movies, and...well that's none of your business.  AHHH bliss...to be continued :)

the new couch.....

On Presidents day Joshie and I headed out with some cash and BIG plan to replace the 70's couch. Ya know the one that seems to make it in every picture I take?? That would be the one!
After a few stops and some haggling I found this gem!!!

Black leather L shaped sectional. The best part is the white chunky stitching!!! You may ask why am I showing you a picture in the garage with plastic still on. Well sit back and I'll tell ya. It's a doozie!
I had it all worked out in my mind. Josh would come home early from work to go pick it up. I would make a yummy dinner and make sure the floors were vacuumed and ready. Then the vacuum belt broke. No vacuuming for me. Called a neighbor to ask for some muscles and a to borrow their vacuum. Made a treat to share after the beautiful couch was lifted into the perfect spot. When they brought it to the front door. It only came in a few feet then hit the closet. What the heck??? Tried the sliding door out back. No go, too fat. Tried the garage door. Makes it in a few feet and stopped. You have got to be kidding?? YEP even though the measurements say it should fit, well it doesn't! So my beautiful couch is sitting in the garage. If it wasn't winter I would take my cute self out there and sit on it for a while. So we are taking the cute new couch to store at Josh dads house and when we buy a new house we will a really pretty black leather L shaped sectional to put in it!
WE ARE IDIOTS!!!

SiCkOs...

this germ-a-phobic has had a few very nasty weeks!
The amount of hacking that has been going on over here is like a tuberculosis convention. it will NOT go away! Then Ella started in with a little fever so off to the instant care where she promptly threw up all over. YUMMY! I stood there like a deer in the headlights. I tried to catch most of it in her blanket which unfortunately was her silky that Grandma gave her. The receptionist was super helpful. She kept trying to hand me my debit card and receipt. WHAT THE...?? Can she not see my hands full of puke? Apparently not. I asked her for a puke bucket and paper towels. I try my best to clean up and the blanket was so SICK that I threw it in the trash with the paper towels. SAD:( I finally got her out of her pj's and called Josh to bring me a new pair. We saw the provider who had some issues himself but I cant even bring myself to type about them so I wont. Come to find out double ear infections, a shot, and a band aid later we went home to the rest of the hackies. The best part was when I went to change the laundry over the silky was in there!!! Josh knew I was sad about it so he fished it out of the garbage and cleaned it up.
SO SWEET! I LOVE that guy!
Then Preston came home from the Klondike with a sore throat and ear hurting so off to the instant care.
Can you say ear infection?? A Z-pack later and home for some rest.
Then this morning Ella's eye was crusty.
Called the Ped. asking to have her call in some eye drops. NOPE! have to see her. Off to the ped. so she could tell me she had pink eye. REALLY?? Would have never guessed!  We had pink eye a couple of yeas ago and it was so hideous I still haven't gotten over it. Don't you worry I stopped and got one of these...

I used it to drowned my sorrows.
So now I am a cleaning, disinfecting, and hand sanitizing like crazy.
I will be lovin on my little people who are miserable and try to make them feel better. That's my job.
I AM THE MOM!!! :)

i LOVE her...

This girl melts my heart!!!
She has a SERIOUS love for OREOS and DIET COKE!!!

Cant you see the LOVE all over her face??
I cant help but smile when I see her head bobbing to the song in the back of the car. That she loves to get books and sit on my bed with her legs crossed "reading." That she screams and runs around when Josh's car pulls up (she must have seen me do the same thing!) I giggle when she thinks I cant see her if she hides her eyes.
I cant help but be totally in LOVE with her!!!

thursdays thoughts...

I wish...
  • the little part of my back tooth I broke off would magically reappear.
  • I could wake up and not still feel tired. Is that humanly possible?
  • that dr. laura wasn't so mean. dont get me wrong i am all about honesty but sometimes when i hear her railing on people i feel like crawling under my table. maybe she could say something like "yes your an idiot but you have a really nice voice, or i am sure your not an idiot all the time" something.. just throw these poor people a bone!
  • that it was spring so i could go outside and get some free prozac while reading a book.
  • i had a magic wand that could make all the bad things better.
  •  my insurance would have paid better on my surgery:(
  • that i had a maid. it would make my life so much easier. although i would have to clean before she came so that she didn't think i was a dirt bag.
  •  I had a mute button. for those times when you are listening to someone and you cant help but think "i may rip your lips off right now"
LOVES!!

it's official...

WE DID IT!!!
in the mail the other day were some envelopes from the U! Yep it is official... he's graduated and has proof!!
We pulled out the sparkling cider and had ourselves a little celebration. It has been
LOTS
of hard work by all of us,  especially daddy but we pulled together and accomplished something great. When we started this process we figured it would be hard and we were right but we learned some things about ourselves and about each other.

  • pam learned that she can not EVER use a weed whipper. Cut off the tops of about 5 flowers before it died. Since I failed at that, I was one of "those" people outside with the scissors cutting the long grass in my flower beds! EMBARASSING!!!

  • Preston got quite good at helping with diabetes. This was his job once a week. Counting carbs and reminding Abbie to test. Did not want to learn to give a new site but does know how to give a shot. Such a good big brother :)

  • Abbie gets the award or the best helper. She was my right hand man with everything especially the baby. Since Ella was born in the middle of a semester she stepped in and helped with everything. I don't know what I would have done without her!

  • Mckena learned quite a few things these last few 2 year's. Not all good mind you. She became and expert in breastfeeding once she realized I was not trying to feed Ella skin, she also decided that she would not be eating food anymore because it would make her grow bigger and then she would and I quote, "have to get married and have a baby out of her private parts and that really freaks me out!" I asked her not to share this info with her other 4 year old friends. :) Mckena also learned that it's ok to have prayers via the cell phone.

  • Josh learned that you can get up at 4:30 to run, still do a full time job, get two masters, place in a road bike hill climb, hold a church calling, and still be the best daddy and husband ever!
He is amazing and we love him for working so hard for our family. We have enjoyed seeing him every night, helpings with bath and bed time, reading to the kids, DATE NIGHT, and getting the hair out of the drains:)
We LOVE you babe!
CONGRATS!!!
