the card is in the mail...

in the mail yesterday i got this card from my BFF coree. I {heart} this women for many reasons. first of all she is stinkin funny. this card is a "sorry you wrecked your crotch/so grateful your not dead" card. That is a true friend that will send you a card about your crotch getting broken from crashing on your bike. a true friend indeed!
seriously though coree is an amazing women that i have learned so much from. she cares more for other people than she does about herself just look at her life for 2 seconds and you would know. she loves people unconditionally and will always listen if you have to talk.
coree has been the bestest friend anyone could ask for. she has listened to me, cried with me, and force fed me through some pretty hideous moments on my life. we have also had some stinkin fun times too. park city reading a romance novel (SO FUNNY), texas, logan, sitting on the front porch, figwart camp, the steps of franklin elementary dropping our kids off to school, and every resturant between here and texas:) for these moments i will forever be grateful.
so if you are ever in need a good shopping trip, want to play purse, need a treat, some sanitizer, yummy lotion, or want to laugh until you pee your pants shes your gal. just remember she is my friend first and you might need to take a number;)

MCKENAS BIRTHDAY!!

This little lady started her big day out with some yummy cinnamon rolls picked out lovingly by her brother:)
Then she invited all of her bestest buddy's over for some serious party time!
We made some homemade playdoh and created to our hearts content! ( thanks eighteen 25)

Made individual pizzas (thanks again eighteen 25)
and opened some presents!:) now I need to give a little background on the shoes she is holding. They are called TWINKLE TOES! I do not love them. I think they are ugly and who spends $40 on UGLY shoes? Much to my dismay I did!! She HAD to have them. For 4 months she has asked every time we pass the shoe store and on mothers day my card read,
"dear mom, happy mothers day. don't forget that you promised to get me twinkle toes for my birthday.
Love,  Mckena" Sweet kid huh?? She was obviously giddy:)
Then we had some cupcakes (yes... idea from eighteen 25. I HEART them)
All about mckena..
favorite color- pink
favorite food -pizza
favorite treat- snickers
Love's to sing, dance, do cart wheels, and play with friends!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MCKENA!
WE LOVE YOU!!

2 years!!!

A couple of weeks ago this sweet little thing turned the big 2!! I cant believe how fast time has gone by!!
The minute I saw this pink little baby I was in LOVE!
If it is all possible I love her more and more each day.
She LOVES Elmo so of course we had to have an ELMO cake.
She was all smiles until...
She put her toe in it!
After a quick wet wipe she was a better and ready for some yumminess:)
Opening presents consisted of opening it and saying "no Elmo" then moving on. ALL she wanted was an Elmo. FUNNY kid.
She was giddy when she finally opened one and there was ELMO!
Grandma and Grandpa Jarvis came over and gave her the cutest little princess dress that she LOVES
Grandma Brown and Pappy gave her some money. Which she promptly used to buy some new shoes!
(girl after my own heart)
A few things about Ella:
She LOVES her mimi-a.k.a.binky(which will be leaving after the tour)
she calls Preston "brother" it is so sweet
every drink is coke
loves cheese sticks and chocolate
is a chatty kathy
favorite saying ______ rude me!! (toss up between brother and kena)
asks me to sing baby mine and silent night every night before bed:)
We LOVE you Ella! So happy you came to our family!!!!

TOUGH CHICK - Riding Coaches Update!!!

As many of you know, Pam has been training  like crazzzzy for the 65 mile Tour de Cure on June 12th.

She has put in some serious miles on a borrowed bike (Thanks Q).  Had several crashes - one at a stop light as she was learning how to "clip out" of her pedals, one terrible crash on a bad road that threw her into the gutter, and two crashes in the garage on the trainer because her coach didn't hook the bike back up correctly (Sorry babe!!! I'm serious it was hooked up right I promise - the truth is that she was becoming "competition" and I tried to put a stop to it.... No Luck... she keeps getting back on her bike).

We have been taking some photos of training rides and I hope to put together a DVD to share with all of you (friends & family).  Besides training, Pam has been gathering funds, coordinating "Support Crew" T-shirts, jerseys, hotel, "grandma" care for the day of the ride, and smaller training rides with Preston and Abbie.

As Pam's "coach," I feel extremely blessed - she is one tough chick - now I know where Abbie gets it from.  As Abbie's father, I want to thank the "countless" number of friends, family, neighbors, facebook friends, blogger buddies, our sponsors, etc (this list could go on) that have support us in supporting Abbie.  Her face on "race day" makes it all worth it.  More to come.
