Thursday's thoughts...

  • SO excited to go out with my girl friends on sat I can hardly stand myself :)

  • mckena has been wearing my boots around the house for two days. I think it is funny!!

  • mckena and ella have always been the best of friends. mckena's favorite game is sisters. (the same thing as house but everyone is sisters) ella's name for the game is riley or tegan. the funny thing is ella actually answers to the name. i do wonder  if at some point ella will need counseling for multiple personalities :) i just love these girls!!!!

  • in a moment of weakness i seriously considered sweeping my table. YES with the actual broom!!! everyone keep your pants on i didn't actually do it. do you know how dirty brooms are???

  • I can believe that I am going to do this but.....yup that's my belly from surgery

someone asked me the other day if i still had the gas under my shoulder blade. i said yes and he told me your just to proper. you need to learn to burp and fluff. REALLY?? i am not sure of how to do that out of my shoulder but if anyone else does could you please send me the 411?

  • been praying for a miracle. my friend lori got a plane to go to haiti to pick up 50 or so orphans ( her children included). the plane will be there today but the government is making it difficult and they don't know if they will let them go. her daughter has been located but is not with the other children. they need to get her there before the plane leaves. miracle's still happen so i am praying for one today.

HOPE FOR HAITI...

Please meet my sweet friends Lori and Brent Rosenlof. The photo below is of them and their PRECIOUS children Nathan and Jessica who they are adopting from Haiti.
This family and others like them are in great need. HOPE FOR LITTLE ANGELS OF HAITI is an organization that they have started to help the orphans of Haiti.

They have sent a team to Haiti to locate the children from the Orphanage and are trying to secure a way home for them. Brent was able to go with this team to try and find his children. He found little Nathan but they are still searching for Jessica.

and read about their story and if you are able
MAKE A DONATION!!!
They desperately need to find a way home for these children. I personally know Brent and Lori. They are amazing people who just want their babies home.
Tonight when you pray for your own family take a moment to supplicate God in behalf of the Rosenlofs. They need a miracle and we can do our part to make that happen!
THANKS!

christmas cards and getto sledding

Our day started out with making yummy cinnamon rolls! Mckena couldn't wait so she got a pillow and hung out right in front of the oven WAITING!

After getting all dressed in winter garb we headed to the school for our Christmas card photo. We had some pretty good shots and a few that were not so good but this was one was one of my favorites:)

This is the final project! We thought they turned out pretty cute and I was happy EVERYONE had their tongue stuck out. Yup even little Ella has her tongue hanging out. Such a good girl:)

Then we hooked up the sled's to the back of the van and pulled the kids around the school parking lot.

I feel bad the only photo of Preston and Ella was blurry. SHOOT!

The kids had a great time. we stayed out for about 45 minutes and then Ella and I got dropped off to make the hot coco and the big kids went to the baseball park for another half hour.

All in all the day was a success:)

Confessions from an Intoxicated Mother in Need of Much R&R

Many of you may know that Pam had her Gall Bladder taken out on Monday.  As she is "laid-up," I thought that I would attempt to blog for her about the experience with her same humor.  I also wanted to thank all the friends, family, and neighbors for the meals, prayers, sitting with the kids, and thoughts for our little family... especially for Pam.  Sometimes you forget how much and how many people really care about you.  I especially wanted to warn the weather man that in a few days Pam will be feeling better and that he should be on the look out for a crazed woman, high on Diet Coke, wearing a "hot" Red Coat.

So here is my attempt...

After checking in to the pre-op area, we were informed at least three times that we were not expecting.  This was good news to both Pam and I as we too were not expecting.  Although, the first coherent words out of Pam mouth after surgery was.... "Where is the baby?"  I informed her several times that her mom was watching the kids and that the baby was fine.

As Pam continued to come in and out of the anesthesia, I jotted down some of her comments...

"Ouch. Ouch. Ouch... I think somebody kicked me."  "Are they done?" "Can I have some Diet Coke?"  And my favorite, "What about 'My' kids?" My reply, They're fine... don't you mean "Our" kids?  Pam gets a concerned look on her face... starts to think and then says, "I don't know."

Okay, so maybe I was having fun seeing Pam "intoxicated."  But after the nurse got her pain under control, Pam was out and slept from 10:30 to 1:30 without even moving.  I relate this to a hard working mother, who has been sleep deprived for the past few months, now in a quiet area with a gentle sleep aid, catching up on some much needed sleep.

I love ya, Pam. Hope you had a few giggles when you read this.

rite of passage...

When our girls were born there were several discussions about getting their ears pierced. Josh felt like it was a rite of passage and that they should be given the choice I felt like well... it's just cute. After MANY talks we decided that as soon as they asked we would take them to get them pierced.
so.... Mckena asked!!!

On Dec. 23rd Josh and Mckena had a date. Mckena invited Abbie to come to help with being brave:) and off they went.
When they got home she went to the bathroom to look in the mirror.
I went with.
Mckena said "WOW! I look different!"
This made me giggle but I totally agreed.

thursdays thoughts

dear weather man,
it is FREEZING! i watch you every night hoping that you will tell me that tomorrow will be better but it hasn't happened yet. i am seriously rethinking our relationship. i know what you are going to say, "i can't control the weather" but someone has to be blamed and i choose you. if there are not some changes soon i will come to the station and choke you with your tie.
love, pam

dear gall bladder,
i HATE you! i know you may think that i am being harsh but you are making my life miserable. i cant eat anything and i am pretty much starving to death. ok maybe not to death but i am hungry! i really don't need you so i am going to find someone to cut you out. then you will be out of my life forever.
love, pam

dear new red coat,
thanks for being so stinkin cute and keeping me warm. i want you to know that i don't really like coats they make me feel like i can't breath but you... i LOVE! i apologize right up front for the cheetos and boogers you may get on you. i will try to keep the little people at bay but i can't promise anything.
love, pam

dear lady at the kindergarten drop off,
i realize that you may think you are the only person in line to drop your little people off... but your not. do you not see the 50 million cars waiting behind you? we are not there just for kicks. when it says NO PARKING they are not kidding. they really don't want you parking and getting out of your car. drop off means just that, drop them off.
love, pam
p.s. i do think you have cute hair though:)

dear preston,
thanks for always going out in the mornings and shoveling the walks and starting my car. it is so sweet of you to take such good care of me. your a really good boy and i love you:)
love, mom

dear diet coke,
have you forgotten about me? i haven't forgotten about you. i just have to take a little break until the above said gall bladder gets yanked. please know that i think about you often and don't worry your cute little self about being replaced it will never happen:O)
love, pam
